Filene Research Institute Appoints Christie Kimbell as Executive Vice President

Madison, Wis. – Filene Research Institute, a leading innovator in the credit union industry, is proud to announce the promotion of Christie Kimbell to the position of Executive Vice President. In this new role, Kimbell will be responsible for the strategy, products, programs, communities, financial and operational management of Filene.

Kimbell joined the Filene Research Institute in 2019 as Chief Experience Officer and has since demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and a strong commitment to the growth and success of the organization. Her contributions have been the driving force behind product relevancy, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

In her most recent role as Chief Product Officer, Kimbell adeptly shifted the relevancy of Filene’s research and incubation portfolio and successfully defined talent requirements for growth. Her leadership of the communities area has demonstrated her skill at listening to market needs and responding effectively. Her leadership in testing new concepts like the philanthropic strategy, HerMoney, and Member Voice show her strategic thinking, her understanding of the innovation competency as well as the ability to pivot when a strategy fails.

“We are thrilled to announce Christie’s promotion to Executive Vice President. Her proven track record of success and strategic vision make her the ideal leader to help us drive growth and success in the coming years,” said Mark Meyer, President & CEO of Filene.

With 18 years of marketing leadership and 12 years in business development, Christie is a strategic leader ready to drive growth and maintain a competitive edge. Before joining Filene, Kimbell worked as VP, Marketing & Client Experience at State National where she led their marketing and client experience efforts. Past roles include managing Strategic Partnerships at Capital One and Chief Marketing roles at OneTouchPoint and The Holley Group.

“I’m incredibly honored by this opportunity. It’s a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team, and I’m excited to lead us into this new chapter of growth and innovation,” said Kimbell.

Kimbell recently earned her Executive MBA from Southern Methodist University, Cox School of Business and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas. She is excited to do her part to help the credit union movement navigate the rapidly changing environment that is impacting the financial industry.
