Credit Union of Georgia Surprises Marietta High School Senior with Annual Scholarship Award

Marietta, GA – Credit Union of Georgia, in partnership with the Marietta Schools Foundation, proudly awarded its annual scholarship to an exceptional Marietta High School senior, Morgan Odom-Harris.

Amanda Arnold, Director of Community Outreach and Kathy Winiarczyk, Business Development Officer from Credit Union of Georgia, along with Laura Kraus, Executive Director with the Marietta Schools Foundation, had the joy of surprising Morgan with the scholarship during a heartfelt presentation.

Morgan, who plans to attend Georgia Southern University this fall, aspires to become an educator and make a meaningful difference in the lives of her future students. Her inspiring scholarship essay resonated deeply with the selection committee, especially this standout line:

“Making a difference doesn’t always have to be something big and extraordinary—it can be as simple as a smile. A smile has the power of brightening someone’s day, making them feel seen, and giving them hope.”

Morgan’s mother, Forest Odom-Okeke, shared her gratitude in a touching message:

“Credit Union of Georgia, your generous support means so much to our family and has made a meaningful impact on Morgan’s educational journey. This scholarship not only eases the financial burden but also encourages and inspires Morgan to continue striving for excellence. Knowing that others believe in her potential gives her even more motivation to work hard and pursue her dreams.”

The Credit Union of Georgia Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to their community. Morgan exemplified all of these qualities and more.

The Credit Union of Georgia and the Marietta Schools Foundation are proud to support students across Marietta City Schools by investing in their educational journeys, recognizing their achievements, and providing opportunities that help them pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.
