December 4th, 2023 Lizeth George Lizeth George Alabama, Credit Union News 0 comments

Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union is excited to announce that it was one of four Sylacauga businesses among 46 finalists honored at the 2023 Small Business of the Year Awards held by the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama.

The local finalists were honored in each of four categories. They included Broadway Spinal Care (Emerging Business <5 Years), Pinhoti Outdoor Center (1 – 10 Employees), Harvey’s On Noble (11 – 50 Employees), and Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union (51 – 100 Employees). Of the four, Broadway Spinal Care and Pinhoti Outdoor took first place in their categories while Harvey’s On Noble and Coosa Pines FCU won the second place or silver awards in their categories.

BCA President/CEO Helena Duncan stated that the awards “exist to recognize, celebrate, and promote small businesses for their notable efforts in supporting their communities and bettering our state.” She added, “BCA is proud to honor some of our state’s most impressive small businesses as they exemplify resilience, passion, and commitment. (They) are the sponsors you see on little league jerseys, high school football games, and community philanthropy events. They are the heart of Alabama communities and deserve to be celebrated every single day.”

“We are honored to have had our staff and members recognized for their philanthropy and hard work in the six Central Alabama counties we serve,” said Coosa Pines FCU CEO Don Carden. “I hope that it will also inspire new volunteer efforts, hearten our staff who join in to help each other, buoy our management team in their projects, and foster new ideas and dreams for our communities. For all of this, we would be grateful.”

Coosa Pines FCU was chartered in 1950 and has a field of membership that includes Talladega, Shelby, St. Clair, Jefferson, Coosa, and Clay counties, Alabama. Coosa Pines has over $350 million in assets and 25,000 members. (NCUA.gov) Their five branches are in Childersburg, Sylacauga, Chelsea, Pell City, and Vincent. The Credit Union can be reached at (256) 378-5559, toll free 1-800-237-9789, or online at www.CoosaPinesFCU.org. Federally insured by NCUA, Coosa Pines FCU is an Equal Housing Lender.
