Winter Haven High SChool math teacher Vincent Miller won this year's award. Miller takes his role as a teacher and a mentor seriously. According to an article in The Ledger, Miller also coaches girls' basketball, gives after-school tutoring lessons, hosts a back-to-school supplies give away, sponsors both the Key and Culture clubs and maintains a closet of clothes and shoes for needy children.

January 24th, 20202989Kinetic Credit Union recently partnered with local TV station WRBL to award a Kinetic Credit Union GOlden Apple Award to Shelly Godwin, a deserving teacher at Webster County Elementary-Middle School.
Godwin was nominated by Nikki Jones, the parent of one of her students, Mackenzzie Jones, who said Godwin goes above and beyond to make sure her students excel, according to a WRBL article. Jones also said the atmosphere in Godwin's classroom is fun and inviting.

January 22nd, 2020178A local fourth-grade teacher recently received $319 for her classroom, thanks to a partnership between WHNT News 19, Yellowhammer Roofing and North Alabama Educators Credit Union.
Haley Roberts, a 4th-grade teacher at Bridgeport Elementary in Jackson County, was excited to win the money for her classroom, according to a WHNT News 19 article. Principal Emily Waldrop told the station that Roberts often spends her own money on the students.

Pen Air Federal started Jeans for Communerosity in 2013 to give back to the local communities it serves, according to a Santa Rosa Press Gazette article. January 21st, 2020277Changes are underway to rename the Port St. Lucie Civic Center as MidFlorida Credit Union Event Center.
The Civic Center and MidFlorida Credit Union finalized a naming rights agreement in December 2019, according to City of Port St. Lucie's news blog. The new signage will be unveiled during a ceremony on Jan. 24 at 10 a.m.
