Combined with $8.2 million in philanthropic contributions last year, VyStar’s impact continues to strengthen the communities we serve.
This spirit of service is deeply embedded in VyStar’s culture and brought to life by employees who lead through action. Each year, VyStar’s Volunteer of the Year Awards recognize individuals whose dedication exemplifies what it means to live our purpose and inspire others to do the same.

Meet our 2025 Volunteer of Year Honorees
Joseph Sellix, Protective Services Manager (314 Volunteer Hours)
Joe is recognized for his consistent leadership and hands-on commitment to serving communities across VyStar’s footprint. In 2025, he dedicated more than 300 volunteer hours in support of organizations such as Animal Care and Protective Services, the Center for Independent Living, Museum of Contemproary Art, BASCA and the Museum of Science and History. He frequently stepped into volunteer leadership roles, including helping build an adaptive horse-and-chariot costume for a child at the Center for Independent Living. His reliability, initiative, and “whatever it takes” make him one of VyStar’s most impactful volunteers.
Meredith Anido, Compliance Analyst (414 Volunteer Hours)
Meredith is honored for her outstanding leadership and ability to mobilize others in service of the community. In 2025, she not only supported existing volunteer efforts but also helped create new opportunities for engagement. She regularly organized and led events, including coordinating a team of 30 VyStar volunteers at Rethreaded during Good is everywhere, where she ensured seamless execution and meaningful impact. Through her leadership with VyStar’s VETS Resource Group, she also helped plan and lead events honoring veterans, including Memorial Day flag placements and wreath-laying ceremony. Her passion, organization and leadership continue to elevate volunteerism across the enterprise.
