Augusta, Ga. – SRP Federal Credit Union Commercial Loan Officer James Heffner was recognized by WJBF-TV as September’s winner of the Mary L. Jones Black Affirmation Award, part of their Celebrating Black Excellence 365 program. Mr. Heffner was nominated by Linda McKnight, CEO/President, of the Burn Foundation of America in Augusta, Ga., with the support of their Board of Directors.
WJBF-TV states that their Black Excellence 365 program honors the contribution, kindness, innovation, and selflessness of Black individuals in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). They additionally state ideal recipients are strong, forward-thinking representatives of their communities. Through their efforts, they improve the lives of the people around them. They are passionate about what they do, and work tirelessly to translate that passion into meaningful, impactful change in the CSRA.
Based on their definition of this award, SRP FCU is pleased with their choice of Mr. Heffner. “James embodies what this award represents,” says Mr. Eric Jenkins, CEO of SRP FCU. “He is not only a valuable team member, but also an excellent community member. Always humble, he goes about his work here, helping our members, and through numerous organizations in our community, helping those in need. This award is extra-special, as those in the community nominate the candidates.”
Mr. Heffner stays busy with his charitable work, both through his church and through the Burn Foundation of America in Augusta, Ga. (who nominated him for this award), where is he a board member for their Foundation. He currently serves on seven boards including Golden Harvest Food Bank, Augusta Technical College, and Walton Options for Independent Living.
