Five seats available for leaders ready to help shape the Foundation’s work to improve financial well-being
Madison, Wis. – The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) is now accepting nominations for five seats on its volunteer Board of Directors. Applications will be accepted through October 23, 2026.
The Foundation is seeking leaders who bring diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise to help guide its strategic direction and strengthen its ability to improve financial well-being with and through credit unions.
“Our Board represents some of the strongest leadership across the credit union movement, and there’s real power in putting that level of expertise and vision around one table,” said Lauren Culp, Executive Director of the Foundation. “Financial well-being is the throughline in everything credit unions do, and the possibilities grow when smart people come together with energy and passion for this work. We’re looking for leaders who are curious, thoughtful, and willing to challenge assumptions as the Foundation helps shape the future of financial well-being.”
The following five seats are open for election:
- Seat 5 – Credit Union Executive or Director: Qualifications: Must currently be and remain an executive officer or director of a credit union.
- Currently held by Robert Cashman of Metro Credit Union, who is seeking re-election as an incumbent.
- Seat 8 – League President: Qualifications: Must currently be and remain a League President.
- Currently held by Fred Robinson of the Tennessee & Mississippi Credit Union Association, who is seeking re-election as an incumbent.
- Seat 13 – Credit Union Executive or Director or System Affiliate or At-Large. Qualifications: Candidates for these seats must be and remain (i) an executive officer or director of a credit union or credit union’s foundation, or (ii) a director or executive officer of an organization that is national in scope, that has as its primary purpose support of credit unions or some element of the credit union movement, that has a significant portion of its ownership or membership from the credit union system and that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation, or (iii) a representative of an organization outside of the credit union system that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation (“At-large”). No more than two (2) of seats 13-17 may be “At Large” representatives.
- Currently held by Chrissy Siders of TRUE Community Credit Union who is seeking re-election as an incumbent.
- Seat 14 – Credit Union Executive or Director or System Affiliate or At-Large. Qualifications: Candidates for these seats must be and remain (i) an executive officer or director of a credit union or credit union’s foundation, or (ii) a director or executive officer of an organization that is national in scope, that has as its primary purpose support of credit unions or some element of the credit union movement, that has a significant portion of its ownership or membership from the credit union system and that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation, or (iii) a representative of an organization outside of the credit union system that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation (“At-large”). No more than two (2) of seats 13-17 may be “At Large” representatives.
- Seat 17 – Credit Union Executive or Director or System Affiliate or At-Large. Qualifications: Candidates for these seats must be and remain (i) an executive officer or director of a credit union or credit union’s foundation, or (ii) a director or executive officer of an organization that is national in scope, that has as its primary purpose support of credit unions or some element of the credit union movement, that has a significant portion of its ownership or membership from the credit union system and that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation, or (iii) a representative of an organization outside of the credit union system that has demonstrated a commitment to the purposes of the Foundation (“At-large”). No more than two (2) of seats 13-17 may be “At Large” representatives.
- Currently held by Christine Cordell of Blaze Credit Union who is seeking re-election as an incumbent.
To apply, candidates should review the 2026 Declaration of Candidacy and Nominations Criteria. The application includes a Personal Data Form, Nomination Questionnaire, and one letter of recommendation. Completed materials must be received by October 23, 2026.
