Smyth has recently taken over as chairman of the Small Business Action Council of the Floyd Chamber, according to a Rome News-Tribune article. He said when he took over that position, he made it his mission to ensure small busines leaders became better educated on the opportunities they have in Rome and Floyd counties.

On Aug. 13, the credit union debuted a commercial starring University of Georgia's head football coach, Kirby Smart. The commercial is scheduled to run over the next several weeks on various cable networks and streaming devices.
