Jacksonville, FL – VyStar Credit Union is proud to announce that the credit union’s Chief Information Security Officer Carl Scaffidi, has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Georgia CISO ORBIE® Awards in the Corporate category. The ORBIE Awards, presented by Georgia CISO, recognize exceptional leaders in information security who have demonstrated excellence in technology and cybersecurity leadership.

The Georgia CISO ORBIE® Awards are the premier recognition program for technology executives in the United States and Canada. Since their inception in 1998, over 500 winners have received this esteemed honor. The ORBIE Award is bestowed upon chief information security officers and their equivalents who excel in leadership and management, create significant business value through technology and cybersecurity innovation, and actively engage in industry and community endeavors.

“I am honored to be a finalist for the 2024 Georgia CISO ORBIE® Award with the great Inspire Leadership Network,” said Scaffidi. “Inspire gives us a platform to collaborate with our peers, continuing to grow our knowledge and that of others in the world of technology. Together, we can create a better future.”

This year marks the inaugural Georgia CISO ORBIE® Awards, with over 115 nominations received from across the state. Scaffidi’s nomination and selection as a finalist underscore his outstanding contributions to VyStar and the broader Georgia technology community.

“Carl’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing VyStar’s information security initiatives, ensuring the protection of member data and the integrity of our systems,” said VyStar Chief Information Officer Lisa Cochran.” His strategic vision and unwavering commitment to security have not only enhanced our defenses against emerging threats but also fostered a culture of vigilance and resilience within our organization. We are confident that his continued efforts will keep VyStar at the forefront of information security and operational excellence.”

The ORBIE Awards Breakfast, where finalists will be honored, is scheduled for November 21, 2024. This event will bring together over 300 technology professionals and business leaders to celebrate CISO leadership and innovation success.
