24-year credit union veteran promoted from Member Solutions Director

MIRAMAR, Fla. – (Dec. 14, 2023) Tropical Financial, one of South Florida’s largest not-for-profit credit unions, announces that Erick Padron has been promoted to Vice President of Lending.  He previously served as Member Solutions Director.

In his new role, Padron is responsible for leading the strategic direction of lending operations and growing a loan portfolio of over $750 million.   He is now part of the senior management team and joins the Asset Liability and Business Loan committees.

Padron started at Tropical Financial as a branch representative in 1999, just a few years out of high school.  Over the next two decades, he was promoted several times to positions involving sales, lending, branch operations, and member service.

“Erick has touched just about every facet of operations at Tropical Financial, with a track record of effective leadership during his 24-year career with us,” said Rick Shaw, President/CEO of Tropical Financial. “He has been a vital part of our growth story and I look forward to seeing what he can accomplish in this new executive role, which he has certainly earned.”

Padron earned his bachelor’s degree in 2013 while working at Tropical Financial. He is planning on continuing his education by earning a master’s degree in the near future.
