Rome, Ga. – On Tuesday, Aug. 25, LGE Community Credit Union celebrated the official grand opening of its relocated Rome branch at 11 Riverbend Drive Southwest and presented $20,000 in donations to local public safety organizations. The branch expands access to convenient, personalized financial services in Floyd County and features modern, welcoming spaces designed to help members achieve their financial goals.
The celebration included a ceremonial ribbon cutting and remarks from community leaders, including Pam Powers-Smith, president and chief executive officer of the Rome-Floyd Chamber of Commerce, and Jim Bojo, mayor of Rome. LGE’s Rodney Grizzle, senior vice president and chief lending officer, and Elizabeth Hoyle, Rome branch manager, also shared remarks about LGE’s continued investment in the Floyd County community. Julius, mascot of the Rome Emperors, also made a special appearance during the celebration.
In addition to celebrating the new location, the LGE Community Outreach Foundation presented two $10,000 donations to the Rome-Floyd Fire Department and the Rome City Police Department in support of local first responders.
“We’re thrilled to continue LGE’s growth in Floyd County through our relocated Rome branch,” said Grizzle. “This investment reflects our commitment to offering smarter and simpler banking solutions while building meaningful relationships within the communities we serve. We’re also proud to support the dedicated first responders whose work protects the Rome and Floyd County community every day.”
Funds donated to the Rome-Floyd Fire Department will support the Fire Department Training Prop Fund, which provides realistic training tools that simulate emergency situations, allowing firefighters to enhance their readiness to protect the community. Funds donated to the Rome City Police Department will support the Crisis Outreach and Personal Support Fund (C.O.P.S.), which provides mental and physical health resources and financial assistance to officers facing personal challenges.
These donations reflect LGE’s ongoing commitment to supporting the well-being of the communities it serves. The relocated Rome branch represents another step in that commitment, providing residents and businesses with convenient access to personalized financial services and support.
