Eglin Federal Credit Union Donates $50,000 to Westonwood Ranch in Walton County for Technology Support

Fort Walton Beach, Fla. – Eglin Federal Credit Union presented Westonwood Ranch in Walton County with a $50,000 check on Friday, July 25, 2025. The funding will support upgrades to Westonwood Ranch’s technology and communication systems, expanding learning opportunities for children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

At the check presentation ceremony, Lindy Wood, founder and CEO of Westonwood Ranch, said, “With this $50,000 gift, we’re going to be able to invest in our technology here at Westonwood Ranch. To have a partnership like this with Eglin Federal Credit Union is incredible, and we are beaming with gratitude knowing we have a team we can count on. Thank you for believing in our mission and investing in some of the most vulnerable lives in our community, those with developmental disabilities.”

Westonwood Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Freeport, dedicated to supporting children and young adults with developmental differences by teaching essential life skills through hands-on learning. The organization offers real-world training experiences, where participants build independence, job readiness and social confidence.

Westonwood Ranch addresses a critical gap in surrounding communities by offering full-time, year-round educational programs and transition-to-work opportunities. Services include summer day camps, therapeutic horseback riding and recreational therapy, aquaponic lettuce and dog treat enterprises, as well as family outreach and support.
