Credit Union of Georgia Invests in Cherokee & Pickens Counties with Addition of Debra Williams

Woodstock, GA —  Credit Union of Georgia is proud to announce that Debra Williams has joined the organization as a Commercial Lender serving Cherokee and Pickens counties, further strengthening the Credit Union’s commitment to supporting local businesses and investing in the communities it serves.

Williams brings more than 37 years of financial services experience to Credit Union of Georgia, with an extensive background in commercial and consumer lending, business development, branch leadership and relationship banking. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with business owners and professionals to provide financial guidance and lending solutions while building long-lasting relationships throughout North Georgia.

In her new role, Williams will partner with businesses throughout Cherokee and Pickens counties, providing customized commercial lending solutions designed to help local businesses grow, expand and achieve their financial goals.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Debra to the Credit Union of Georgia team,” said Brian Albrecht, President and CEO of Credit Union of Georgia. “Her experience speaks for itself, but what makes Debra such a great fit for our organization is the relationships she has built throughout these communities. She knows Cherokee and Pickens counties, she understands the businesses and people who call them home, and she shares our commitment to being a true community partner.”

Williams’ connection to the communities she will serve extends well beyond her professional career. Born and raised in Cherokee County, Williams has called Pickens County home for the past 28 years. Her deep roots in both communities have given her a unique understanding and appreciation for the people, businesses and organizations that make North Georgia special.

“Pickens County is a tight-knit community, and I have been fortunate to call it home for nearly three decades,” said Williams. “Having grown up in Cherokee County and lived in Pickens County for the past 28 years, these communities are deeply meaningful to me. I value the relationships I’ve built here and look forward to continuing to serve the people and businesses that make these communities so strong.”

Williams currently serves as Chairman of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and has been actively involved with the Chamber for more than two decades. Her service includes being named the Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year, serving on its Board Executive Committee, graduating from Leadership Cherokee and serving on the Leadership Cherokee Steering Committee.

Her community involvement also includes serving as Past Chair of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Foundation, Past Chair of Main Street Woodstock, now IN WDSTK, Past Member of the Jasper Rotary Club, and a graduate of the Leadership Pickens Class of 2015.

“I have been privileged to serve the people and businesses of North Georgia for more than 37 years, and I am excited to begin this next chapter with Credit Union of Georgia,” said Williams. “I have always believed successful banking is built on relationships, integrity and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. I look forward to continuing to support the businesses and communities of Cherokee and Pickens counties while helping Credit Union of Georgia grow its presence throughout the region.”

Williams joins Credit Union of Georgia at an exciting time of growth for the organization. In addition to its continued investment in Cherokee County, Credit Union of Georgia plans to open its first Pickens County branch in Jasper in early 2027.

The new Jasper location represents an important expansion for the Credit Union and its commitment to becoming an active part of the Pickens County community. Ahead of the branch opening, Credit Union of Georgia is focused on building relationships with local businesses, community organizations and residents and identifying opportunities to support the community well beyond traditional financial services.

“Our Jasper branch isn’t simply about opening another location,” Albrecht added. “It’s about becoming part of the community. Bringing Debra onto our team gives us an opportunity to begin building those relationships now and reinforces our long-term commitment to serving Pickens County.”

With decades of experience in lending and a passion for servant leadership, Williams looks forward to connecting with entrepreneurs, established businesses, nonprofit organizations and community leaders throughout Cherokee and Pickens counties.
