October 10th, 20182299 The League of Southeastern Credit Unions and its affiliated credit unions are bracing for Hurricane Michael. The league, which is based in Tallahassee, joined many of its credit unions in closing their branches Tuesday around noon and remaining closed through Thursday because of the state of emergency declared for Alabama and Florida, according to a Credit Union Times article.  Hurricane Michael will be the second major hurricane to it the area in 13 months. Atlanta Postal Credit Union announces new board member

October 10th, 20182135 Atlanta Postal Credit Union recently announced the appointment of Mike Cantrell, a distinguished postal service retiree, as its newest board member. Cantrell worked with the United States Postal Service as a rural letter career for 25 years, retiring in 2012. During his postal career, Cantrell held several leadership positions for the National Rural Letter Carrier's Association. He was also elected as the Georgia Rural Letter Carrier's Association's state vice president in 2008 and served as president of the association from 2009 until 2011. Georgia Power Federal Credit Union serves as Toys for Tots drop site

October 9th, 2018197 Georgia Power Federal Credit Union is acting as a drop site for Toys for Tots in Valdosta. Each year, the Marines Corps Reserve Toys for Tots holds its campaign from Oct. 1 through Dec. 22, according to the Valdosta Daily Times. Robins Financial Credit Union adopts room at Project Safe

October 4th, 20181105 Robins Financial Credit Union recently contributed more than $10,000 to adopt a room at Project Safe's emergency shelter. Project Safe is an organization working to end domestic violence through prevention, crisis intervention, ongoing supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Robins' donation will purchase bedroom furniture for their emergency shelter. Robins made the donation as part of its annual Community Project, through which it provides funds to organizations selected by a board committee based on their reputation and the work they do for the community.
