July 1st, 2019074 Delta Community Credit Union began accepting applications for its 2020 Philanthropic Fund grant program on July 1.  "Our Philanthropic Fund is one of the ways we invest in young people, families and the communities we serve," said Delta Community CEO Hank Halter. League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Georgia Credit Union League members vote to approve consolidation

June 21st, 20192373 Yesterday, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) held its Annual Business Meeting in Orlando, Fla., at which the membership voted to approve the proposed consolidation with the Georgia Credit Union League (GCUL). Earlier this month, the GCUL member credit unions voted via mail ballot to approve consolidating into the LSCU. Georgia United Credit Union's Shred Program serves 1,620 residents

June 21st, 20190217 Georgia United Credit Union, in partnership with Iron Mountain, offered free community shred events at selected branches from March through May 2010.  A final analysis revealed a total of 1,620 residents had 169,695 pounds of personal documents shredded at the events. This year's program will save 1,442 trees and 593,933 gallons of water in paper manufacturing by using the recycled fibers from the events. June 20th, 20190245 Giving back to the community is a way of life for credit unions. During this year's Southeast CUNA Management School, students took a break form the academic rigors of the program to put credit unions' "people helping people" philosophy into action.  A total of 34 credit union professionals worked together to provide school supplies for students in need in the Athens area.
