January 21st, 2020084Pen Air Federal Credit Union recently announced the 10 local charities that will receive $5,000 a piece through its 2020 Jeans for Communerosity charities.
Pen Air Federal started Jeans for Communerosity in 2013 to give back to the local communities it serves, according to a Santa Rosa Press Gazette article. Employees are encouraged to volunteer their time in non profits and to nominate deserving non profits for the program. Employees vote and the top 10 organizations receive a check.

January 21st, 2020275Changes are underway to rename the Port St. Lucie Civic Center as MidFlorida Credit Union Event Center.
The Civic Center and MidFlorida Credit Union finalized a naming rights agreement in December 2019, according to City of Port St. Lucie's news blog. The new signage will be unveiled during a ceremony on Jan. 24 at 10 a.m.

January 17th, 20202875The Shelby County Schools system recently held a dinner to publicly recognize a group of educators as Teachers of the Year, thanks to a sponsorship from eCO Credit Union.
Each of the 32 schools in the school system selected one teacher as its Teacher of the Year, according to a Shelby County Reporter article. That teacher, in turn, was entered as a nominee for a district-wide Teacher of the Year award in one of three categories.
"Teachers are so special and we're honored to be able to recognize them," Shelby County School Education Foundation director Kendall Williams told the Shelby County Reporter.

January 16th, 20202574Vivian B. Adams School -- which serves 124 individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities -- recently renovated its kitchen thanks to a grant from All In Credit Union.
Vivian B. Adams mainly used the $44,900 grant from All In to create a more handicap-friendly kitchen space, according to a WTVY article. The new kitchen space features a dishwasher, two ovens, two microwaves, 33 cabinets, 37 drawers, three stoves four sinks and a french door refrigerator. January 16th, 20202218Michael Cascone, director emeritus and key contributor to VyStar Credit Union's founding, passed away at age 99 on Dec. 22, after dedicating much of his life to countless philanthropic endeavors.
In addition to advancing the credit union mission, Cascone served our country and was an active member of his community. At VyStar, Cascone fulfilled his mission of bringing credit union services to more people and serving on the VyStar Board of Directors in every board officer position during his tenure as a VyStar volunteer, which spanned over 67 years.
