The LeadSMART Finance event touched on some of the 2018 changes in tax laws and how they affected small business, according to a WTVM article. Brett Walker, chief of lending at Kinetic joined Brad Clemons from AJK LLC to discuss accounting.
LeadSMART Finance provides a deeper look into some of the financial aspects of business owners and is designed to help owners into a financially strong position.

August 30th, 20182130Robins Financial Credit Union will have a hand in getting one Georgia Military College student through the school year.
The credit union recently made a $4,000 donation to GMC to award a student a 1-year scholarship. Tyler Sapp, a student pursuing his Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, was selected as the recipient for the scholarship.

August 27th, 20180238WRBL News 3 and Kinetic Credit Union presented this school year's first Kinetic Credit Union Golden Apple Award last week.
The award went to Fairfax Elementary School's fourth-grade teacher Theresa Sandberg, according to WRBL. The 20-year teaching veteran was nominated by Simone Floyd. Floyd told WRBL that Sandberg "is an amazing teacher who donates so much extra time to teaching her students."
Sandberg told the news station she's honored to receive the recognition.
"I'm going to cherish this forever — so it really means a lot to me," Sandberg said. "We work hard and it's nice to be rewarded for your hard work and your dedication....
August 27th, 20180159The Cherokee County School Board recently approved a partnership with LGE Community Credit Union that will "formalize the organization's financial sponsorship of several special CCSD events for students," according to a school board meeting summary.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that LGE Community Credit Union will provide up to $5,000 to sponsor a scholar recognition banquet and ceremony and will award a one-time $5,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. August 22nd, 20180111Coosa Valley Credit Union Marketing Chief Robert Smyth has set his sights on helping small businesses in Rome and Floyd counties of Georgia.
Smyth has recently taken over as chairman of the Small Business Action Council of the Floyd Chamber, according to a Rome News-Tribune article. He said when he took over that position, he made it his mission to ensure small busines leaders became better educated on the opportunities they have in Rome and Floyd counties.
