The Avadian Foundation will be holding its first major fundraising effort to support the communities served by Avadian Credit Union by partnering with organizations in four key focus areas: affordable housing, financial education, small business development, and education.
The inaugural Pickleball for a Purpose tournament will be held on Sunday, Aug. 10, at Magic City Pickleball in Homewood.
“The Avadian Foundation was established by the credit union in 2022,” said Victoria Eligwe, the president of the Avadian Foundation, “because we feel compelled to lend a hand to others in the communities by investing in affordable housing, financial education, small business development, and education.”
Organizations or individuals looking to sponsor or compete in the tournament can visit avadianfoundation.org.
“We are delighted that TruStage has already agreed to serve as a King of the Court title sponsor for the event,” Eligwe said.
Since its inception, the Avadian Foundation has awarded nearly $90,000 in grants to organizations across the state of Alabama, including a combined $40,000 in recent grants to Navigate Affordable Housing Partners, Inc., Junior Achievement of Alabama, and Small Magic.
