SRP Federal Credit Union’s Shred Fest Securely Recycles Nearly 9 Tons of Paper

North Augusta, SC – More than 610 vehicles lined up at SRP Federal Credit Union’s Administrative Campus on Saturday, October 17 for Shred Fest, a community event hosted by SRP for secure document disposal.

With the support of two mobile shred trucks provided by Augusta Data Storage, Shred Fest securely collected, processed, and destroyed 17,420 pounds of confidential documents, personal records, unsolicited mail, and other sensitive paperwork, helping community members protect themselves against identity theft while promoting responsible recycling.

SRP employees, known internally as ambassadors, from across branches and departments of the organization joined together to serve the community at Shred Fest. From greeting guests and directing traffic to loading bins with sensitive documents, SRP ambassadors played a key role in delivering a safe, efficient, and successful event.

“Shred Fest is a great example of how our community comes together to protect personal information and support environmental stewardship,” said Josh Rhoden, Marketing and Communications Manager at SRP Federal Credit Union. “By providing a secure way to dispose of sensitive documents and recycle nearly nine tons of paper, we’re helping make our communities safer and more sustainable.”
