Auburn, Ala. – August 04, 2026 – Southern Energy Credit Union announces its expansion into the Auburn-Opelika market with the purchase of property at 2085 East University Drive in Auburn. Expected to open this fall, the site will become Southern Energy’s first full-service branch in the Auburn-Opelika area. This investment marks an important milestone in the Credit Union’s continued growth and commitment to serving members throughout Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.
The expansion follows years of interest from members in the area and reflects the Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to strategically investing in communities where members live, work and attend school.

The Auburn branch will operate as a full-service financial center, providing members with convenient access to personalized financial services. Located along one of Auburn’s primary commercial corridors, the property will undergo renovations and updates in preparation for opening this fall.
