July 25th, 2023 Lizeth George Lizeth George Credit Union News, Florida 0 comments

Pensacola, Florida – (July 25, 2023) PenAir Credit Union (PenAir) kicks off its annual Financial Wellness Competition – NOW. Designed to provide hands-on financial education, this seven-month journey promises to empower individuals and strengthen their financial future.

NOW offers a unique opportunity for contestants to enhance their financial knowledge, develop practical skills and foster long-term financial stability. Teams will work with a certified PenAir Financial Counselor to tackle a range of financial topics, including budgeting, savings, investing, and debt management. Contestants will also be competing for their chance to win the $10,000 grand prize.

2022’s NOW winners, successfully rebounded from the financial setbacks caused by the pandemic and achieved the milestone of transitioning into their new home with minimal debt. “Our goal was to embrace the process, set and meet goals, and ultimately revamp our financial habits,” said Veronica, 2022 NOW Winner. “We are forever thankful for this opportunity. Our lives have been enhanced forever!”

Three exceptional teams – Nehemiah and Charlean, Akashma and Michael, and Beverly – have been chosen to compete in this year’s competition. Teams will document their progress and share valuable insights along the way. On average, NOW Teams increased their savings by $13,000 and decreased their debt by $15,000.

“As we begin our fourth season, we are excited to share the real-life experiences of our three teams,” says Casey Brueske, Community Education Development Specialist for PenAir Credit Union. “Our goal is to guide and empower these teams, helping them gain a deeper understanding of their financial habits and inspire transformative change that will not only enhance their lives but also make a positive impact on our shared communities,”

Follow the exciting journey of Nehemiah and Charlean, Akashma and Michael, and Beverly as they share their experiences, strategies, and triumphs through this season’s competition. Track the teams’ financial transformation online at PenAir.org/NOW or follow along on PenAir’s social media.
