Steven Bugg, President & CEO of Great Lakes Credit Union Joins Foundation Board
Madison, WI – The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation), the charitable arm of the U.S. credit union movement, announced the re-election of five board members and the election of new member Steven Bugg, effective January 1, 2026.
The Foundation exists to improve financial well-being with and through credit unions. It takes a strategic approach built on education, inspiration, and implementation—focusing on the power of financial well-being and the unique growth potential of the credit union mission. The Foundation’s board plays a critical role in guiding this work and ensuring that credit unions can help their members reach life-changing goals and achieve financial freedom.
The following individuals have been re-elected to serve on the Foundation Board:
- Melanie Kennedy, President & CEO, Southwest Financial FCU
- Greg Gallant, President & CEO, WeStreet FCU
- Creighton Blackwell, Chief Community Impact & Public Affairs Officer, Coastal CU
- John Sackett, Director, Royal CU
- Jenny Vipperman, President & CEO, ORNL FCU
Joining them is Steven Bugg, President and CEO of Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU), who has been an active member of the Foundation’s fundraising committee throughout 2025 and was confirmed as an outstanding addition to the board. His leadership experience aligns with the Foundation’s vision to build a world where everyone can achieve financial well-being.
