Pensacola, Florida – Gulf Winds Credit Union recently donated $20,000 to Manna and presented the check at their annual Fill the Mayflower event, one of the community’s most impactful annual food-drive events. This year’s donation helps strengthen Manna’s ability to deliver consistent, sustainable hunger relief, supporting programs that ensure children, families, and seniors have dependable access to nutritious food year-round.
“Every county in the U.S. faces food insecurity, and it is our mission to create lasting, local impact,” said Daniel Souers, President and CEO of Gulf Winds Credit Union. “By supporting Manna, we’re not only helping families receive nutritious meals, but also strengthening the long-term sustainability of hunger-relief efforts in our community. Gulf Winds’ longstanding partnership with Manna has been built over more than 20 years of continued financial support, hands-on volunteering, and in-kind resources. From donating an RV after a flood damaged Manna’s office, to more than $475,000 in donations and 750 hours of service, Gulf Winds has been an integral part of Manna’s efforts to create thriving, healthy neighborhoods.
“In recent months, Manna has experienced a surge in requests for food assistance. We are in need of contributions from our community to feed our hungry neighbors,” said DeDe Flounlacker, Executive Director of Manna. “We’re so appreciative of Gulf Winds’ generous support of Manna’s hunger relief programs again this year. Their years of combined giving have made possible nearly 300,000 healthy meals for our neighbors in need!”
