Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation Announces Scholarship Recipients

Tuscaloosa, AL: Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation is proud to announce a total of $24,000 in scholarships have been awarded for the following: AEY Education Matters, AEY TEAM Member, Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation Community, ARECU, Alabama ONE Aspire SEG, Bevill State Community College, Alabama ONE Charter Member – Shelton State, Alabama ONE Volunteer – Shelton State, and Stillman College.

CEO of Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation, Jacquie Johnson stated, “We are delighted to be able to support the education of promising young people in Alabama through the Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation.  Our scholarship recipients represent some of the brightest and most talented students in the state, and we are proud to help them pursue their academic dreams.”

The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation Scholarship applicants were reviewed, scored, and ranked by the Alabama ONE Foundation Scholarship Committee. The awards were based on the applicant’s community service, cumulative GPA, and quality of the submitted application. The recipients are as follows:

The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation AEY scholarship is awarded to an active Alabama ONE Team Member’s (parent or legal guardian) child to help with their college education cost. The scholarship may be used to cover tuition, fees, or books at an accredited institution of higher learning, vocational or trade program. Each scholarship provides $1,500, split across the fall and spring semesters.

The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation AEY scholarship is awarded to two active Alabama ONE Team Members (employees) to help with their college education cost. The scholarship may be used to cover tuition, fees, or books at an accredited institution of higher learning, vocational or trade program. Two scholarships each provide $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.

The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation Community scholarship is awarded to a first-time college student who is an active Alabama ONE Member in good standing to help with their college education cost. The award may be used to cover tuition, fees, or books at an accredited institution of higher learning, vocational or trade program. One scholarship provides $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.

The ARECU scholarship is awarded to anyone employed by an Alabama Rural Electric Coop, any family member of an employee, or anyone who received power from a coop is eligible for membership. The scholarship, provided by The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation, may be used to cover tuition, fees, or books at an accredited higher educational school, vocational, or accredited trade program. Nine scholarships each provide $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.

The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation SEG scholarship is awarded to an active Alabama ONE SEG Member (parent or legal guardian) or their child to help with their college education cost. The scholarship may be used to cover tuition, fees, or books at an accredited institution of higher learning, vocational or trade program. One scholarship provides $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.

The Bevill State Community College Alabama ONE Scholarship is an award for a member of the Alabama ONE Credit Union currently attending or enrolling in Bevill State Community College. The award may be applied toward tuition, fees, books, or program-required supplies. One scholarship provides $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.

The Shelton State Alabama ONE Charter Members Scholarship is awarded to a member of the Alabama ONE Credit Union attending Shelton State Community College. The award may be applied toward tuition, fees, books, or program-required supplies. Two scholarships each provide $1,500, split across the fall and spring semesters.

The Shelton State Alabama ONE Volunteers Scholarship This award is for a member of the Alabama One Credit Union currently attending or enrolling in Shelton State Community College. The award may be applied toward tuition, fees, books, or program-required supplies. Two scholarships each provide $1,500, split across the fall and spring semesters.

The Stillman College Alabama ONE Scholarship is awarded to a member of the Alabama ONE Credit Union currently attending or enrolling in Stillman College. The award may be applied toward tuition, fees, books, or program-required supplies. One scholarship provides $1,000, split across the fall and spring semesters.
