Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation Announces 2026–2027 Scholarship Opportunities

Tuscaloosa, AL — The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation has officially opened the application window for its 2026–2027 scholarship programs, offering a wide range of financial awards designed to support Alabama ONE members in their pursuit of post‑secondary education. The foundation will award scholarships to students demonstrating outstanding academic, athletic, artistic, or professional performance, with funds disbursed directly to the educational institution of each selected recipient.

Universal Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must be active Alabama ONE members in good standing. Additional eligibility standards include:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on the most recent transcript. Applicants below this threshold are disqualified.
  • A minimum of 10 officially documented volunteer hours within the previous 12 months. Documentation may include letterhead, signatures, organizational emails, or software reports. Applications not meeting this requirement are disqualified.
  • Completion of all application components. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The application window closes March 6, 2026.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed, scored, and ranked by the Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation Scholarship Committee. Selection will be based on community involvement, GPA, and the overall quality of the application and attachments submitted.

Scholarship Programs and Award Amounts

The Aspire Foundation offers a diverse range of scholarships to accommodate various educational pathways. Available programs include:

  • ARECU Scholarships — For members who work for or receive power from an Alabama Rural Electric Cooperative, and their dependents. Award: $4,000.
  • HBCU Scholarships — For members planning to attend a Historically Black College or University. Award: $4,000.
  • Community College Scholarships — For members planning to attend a community college. Award: $2,000.
  • Skilled Trade Scholarships — For members pursuing trade school education. Award: $1,000.
  • SEG Scholarships — For members who work for a Select Employer Group Partner of Alabama ONE Credit Union, and their dependents. Award: $4,000.
  • Merit Scholarships — Awarded to applicants who submit the strongest applications. Award: $5,000.
  • Needs-Based Scholarships — For applicants who received a Pell Grant exceeding $1,000 for the relevant school year. Award: $6,000.
  • Team Member Scholarships — For Alabama ONE team members who have volunteered at least five hours at an Alabama ONE Credit Union event. Award: $1,500.
  • Next Generation Scholarships — For dependents of Alabama ONE team members who have volunteered at least five hours at an Alabama ONE Credit Union event. Award: $1,500.
