CFPB releases new 5-year strategic plan

Memo: CFPB will act with 'moderation'

The station reported that the CFPB plans to unveil a "revised mission and vision of the bureau" for 2018 through 2022 which will require the agency to "fulfill its statutory responsibilities but go no further," according to the memo. Swiss bank claims innocence in face of U.S. class action lawsuit

February 12th, 20181207 Swiss bank Credit Suisse faces a class action lawsuit from the U.S. over write-downs it allegedly took in 2016 and 2016. The bank said the lawsuit is "without merit," according to a Reuters article. The Swiss newspaper SonntagsZeitung reported Sunday that the bank took $1 billion in write-downs during that time linked to its trading division. The class action lawsuit in New York accuses the bank, its CEO and its finance chief of giving misleading information about risky investments that cost investors millions. U.S. budget bill passes after 5-hour government shutdown

February 9th, 20181144 President Donald Trump signed a bipartisan budget agreement Friday morning, ending the five-hour government shutdown that had begun at midnight. U.S. Senate reaches two-year budget deal ahead of government shutdown date

February 7th, 2018281 The U.S. Senate reached a $300 billion spending deal Wednesday meant to fund the government for two years.
