Peach State Federal Credit Union will sponsor five high school culinary students on their journey to a national competition at the end of the month.
The Meadowcreek High School students earned top honors in the 2018 Hospitality Foundation of Georgia ProStart State Championship. Their teacher, Chef Simone Byron, won the 2018 ProStart Teacher of the Year honor.

April 23rd, 20182118The National Credit Union Administration is considering an appeal to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia's ruling that vacated two provisions of the agency's fild-of-membership rule, according to a Credit Union National Association press release.
NCUA filed a notice with the court April 19, which set forth the agency's implementation plan to comply with the ruling. The notice indicates that while new communutiy charters will no longer be granted on the basis of the expanded definition o rural district and combined statistical areal, credit unions will not be required to de-list members that joined prior to April 4, 2018,...

Georgia credit unions finished 2017 with strong loan growth aided by near cyclical highs in U.S. consumer confidence.
Lending at Georgia credit unions grew by 1.8 percent in the fourth quarter – eclipsing the third quarter’s 1.5 percent rate but landing short of the 3.2 percent rate in the fourth quarter of 2016, according to data collected by the Credit Union National Association.
Lending grew by 8.8 percent at Georgia credit unions for all of 2017, a bit behind the 10 percent growth credit unions experienced nationally.

Elevate 2018 will serve as a personal and professional development event for exhibitors, sponsors and participants. Long-time members and community partners reportedly joined Delta Community employees to celebrate the anniversary.

The scholarship money was awarded to four high school seniors through scholarships named for the credit union's founder Vernon E. Carne and notable board members Geraldine Tilson, Dorthy Dusenberry Pirkle and Polly Hinde. This year's recipients were chosen based on a video competition with consideration given to academic accomplishments, leadership and participation in both school and community activities.

In her new role, Anna Foote will help oversee the On the Rise Financial Center, an initiative the Federation launched in 2017 to build financial access and capability in Atlanta's historic Westside community.
