Peach State Federal Credit Union is one of a handful of local businesses offering internships through the City of Lawrenceville's Summer of Impact program.
Summer of Impact is an eight-week internship program designed to enhance student abilities and provide real work experience, according to an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Peach State Federal Credit Union recently announced the election of Dr. Keith Everson as Chairperson of the Board following the credit union's annual meeting on April 15.

Peach State Federal Credit Union hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of a new Lawrenceville branch.
Local officials, credit union staff and community leaders were in attendance for the ribbon cutting at 40 East Pike Street in Lawrenceville.
The credit union's original downtown Lawrenceville branch on North Clayton Street was purchased by the Lawrenceville Downtown Development Authority in early 2017 to make room for a new fine ars center near the Aurora Theatre.

United 1st Federal Credit Union's Eastman branch held an Easter Basket Raffle this month to raise funds for Faithful Hearts Animal Shelter in Dodge County.
The credit union sold tickets for $1 each and raised more than $300. Throughout the year, the credit union will be hosting various fundraising events for the animal shelter, culminating with their annual Paws & Claus event in December.
The Faithful Hearts Animal Shelter relies on this support to purchase pet food and other necessities as well as paying for veterinarian bills as needed.

This marks the 25th year of the scholarship program, named for the credit union's founder, Vernon E. Carne and notable board members Geraldine Tilson, Dorothy Dusenberry Pirkle and Polly Hinde.
