June 11th, 20202128Credit unions in the Coastal Empire of Georgia recently donated $13,500 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia in Savannah.
The credit unions met their fundraising goal of $105,000 during May. This was then matched by a generous anonymous donor.

June 4th, 2020096This year marks the second year that Naheola Credit Union teamed up with Mrs. Kelly Gandy at Demopolis High School to provide students the opportunity to compete in the Financial Fitness Tournament sponsored by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions.
This year Michael Osmer, a senior at DHS, came in 3rd place in this competition. Due to COVID-19, the tournament was held online. Michael competed against 50 other students from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. She received $300.

Sarne, who served as executive vice President, succeeded Tim Baldwin, as of his retirement May 31. Patricia Sarne began her career at SACFCU on April 4, 1994, and holds a degree from the University of Maryland and is an Alumni of the Southeastern CUNA Management School. This marks the 26th year of their scholarship program, named for the credit union’s founder, Vernon E. Carne and notable board members Geraldine Tilson, Dorothy Dusenberry Pirkle and Polly Hinde.
