More than 180 students from public and private high schools in 42 counties competed for the Center for Character Ethics' 2018 Student of Integrity Scholarship. The students were judged on their high ethics, as demonstrated through leadership, community service, personal integrity and academic accomplishments, according to a Rockdale Citizen article.

April 27th, 20180148Kenetic Credit Union CEO Mark Littleton recently dished out some financial advice on a local TV news segment.
Littleton spoke on WRBL's segment Mom's Morning Minute about using tax refunds to stave off debt.
"When you get a lump sum of money, the thing you think about is, 'Oh, I've really been wanting this or I've really been wanting that,'" Littleton said. "What we recommend is, number one, you want to save it."

Michelle Sass has been promoted from information services manager, a position she's held since 2013. Before joining APCU, Sass spent 17 years at other financial institutions working in member services, branch operations and risk management.
As project manager, Sass will assist all areas of APCU with the management of current and new projects.

Katie Kosmala will become the new VP, working closely with the credit union's branch managers to ensure branches remain focused on giving outstanding service to members while continuing to maintain a high level of operational excellence.

Peach State Federal Credit Union will sponsor five high school culinary students on their journey to a national competition at the end of the month.
The Meadowcreek High School students earned top honors in the 2018 Hospitality Foundation of Georgia ProStart State Championship. Their teacher, Chef Simone Byron, won the 2018 ProStart Teacher of the Year honor.

Long-time members and community partners reportedly joined Delta Community employees to celebrate the anniversary.

April 19th, 20180113Georgia United Credit Union recently announced the four winners of the $27,500 in scholarships it awarded this year.
The scholarship money was awarded to four high school seniors through scholarships named for the credit union's founder Vernon E. Carne and notable board members Geraldine Tilson, Dorthy Dusenberry Pirkle and Polly Hinde. This year's recipients were chosen based on a video competition with consideration given to academic accomplishments, leadership and participation in both school and community activities.
