The program is a drive to collect new toys and articles of clothing for foster children in local communities. Stop by any of Georgia United's branch locations and pick up a wish for a child. Donated items should be dropped off at a branch by Dec. 12, to ensure deliveries are made to local Division of Family and Children Services offices and other charitable organizations in time for the holidays.

November 21st, 20182788Robins Financial Credit Union recently collected care packags to send off to troops serving overseas.
Branches and back office departments provided more than 70 boxes to send to troops deployed from Robins Air Force Base just in time for the holidays. The boxes incuded sacks, groom items, magazines, batteries and other items.

Each of the five Gwinnett County Public Schools Class of 2018 grads will receive a $2,000 scholarship from Georgia United Credit Union as well as the Mitsubishi Electric Classic.
The Young Leaders Scholarship recognizes female GCPS graduates who distinguish themselves as community volunteers, entrepreneurs or school leaders, according to a Gwinnett Daily Post article. November 19th, 20184762Five Star Credit Union will pay homage to its roots in early 2019 by opening a branch in Blakely, Ga., it's second location in Early County.
Five Star began as the Cedar Springs Federal Credit Union when eight employees of the Great Southern Paper Company in Cedar Springs, Ga. each chipped in $5 and ran the credit union out of a broom closet. The credit union eventually expanded into southwest Georgia and southeast Alabama, changing its name to Five Star Credit Union in 1991. November 16th, 20180119Coosa Valley credit Union recently celebrated the completion of its newest branch with a ribbon cutting.
The new branch at 15 Walnut Grove Road in Cartersville is laid out to allow for easy transactions in an open and inviting space, according to a Coosa Valley News article. The new location is full service and is equipped with an ATM, experienced staff and "a few new features to make banking faster, easier and enjoyable."

November 9th, 20187101Peach State Federal Credit Union has committed to donate $10K to local scholarships.
The credit union will donate the money to Habersham County Schools' REACH Georgia Scholarships over the next five years. The school system will receive $2,000 each year through 2022 from Peach State.

November 8th, 20187113DOCO Credit Union members saved more than $1.3 million by using Christmas Club Savings Accounts during 2018.
On Nov. 1, more than 1,400 club accounts automatically rolled over into members' regular share saving account for holiday access to their funds. DOCO members are estimated to spend more than $1.4 million at local business by eating out, purchasing gifts and enjoying the holidays, according to an Albany CEO article.
