Members of Augusta VAH Federal Credit Union have approved a proposal to merge with SRP Federal Credit Union, according to a Credit Union Journal article.
Augusta VAH FCU members reportedly passed the resolution at a special meeting on Jan. 23. The merger has already received regulatory approval from the National Credit Union Administration.
The combined credit union will have about $1 billion in assets and 20 branches across South Carolina and Georgia.

Atlanta Postal Credit Union began the new year by presenting donated gifts to employees at Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services.

Before the longest government shutdown in history ended on Jan. 25, Georgia's Own Credit Union spent two hours pumping gas for furloughed TSA employees.

As the federal government shutdown ran into its 34th day and TSA employees were facing a second pay period of working with no compensation, Georgia's Own Credit Union worked to give 8.5 gallons of gas to more than 400 TSA agents who visited two RaceTrac locations near the airport.
The 8.5 gallons commemorated the credit union's 8th anniversary.

President Donald Trump said Friday that he will sign a short-term spending bill to temporarily end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.
That's good news for federal employees, many of whom have gone more than a month without pay as Democrats and Republicans sparred over funding a wall at the country's southern boarder. The temporary spending bill will last until Feb. 15.
