June 4th, 2020097This year marks the second year that Naheola Credit Union teamed up with Mrs. Kelly Gandy at Demopolis High School to provide students the opportunity to compete in the Financial Fitness Tournament sponsored by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions.
This year Michael Osmer, a senior at DHS, came in 3rd place in this competition. Due to COVID-19, the tournament was held online. Michael competed against 50 other students from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. She received $300.

Dothan built up the subdivision of Diamond Grove Park with 14 homes to house Katrina evacuees, according to a WTVY Channel 4 article. Now, the Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity is responsible for upkeep of the land.

February 26th, 2020298Tyndall Federal Credit Union recently contributed $5,000 to its Public Service Scholarship at Chipola College.
According to Foster Folly News, the latest donation brings contributions up to $25,000 over five years.
This scholarship is intended to help students enroll in the college's law enforcement, corrections and firefighting programs, and is available to residents of Jackson, Calhoun, Washington and Holmes counties.

February 21st, 2020252During its annual Employee Forum training day, Five Star Credit Union employees donated cleaning supplies to the Wiregrass Humane Society and Dothan Animal Shelter.
The staff collected 7,550 Clorox wipe, 1,279 quarts of cleaning liquids, including bleach and 182 rolls of paper towels. These were all cleaning supplies that the shelter identified as major needs. The director said the donation arrived at the right time as their cleaning supplies are getting low.
