Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta Reaches more Kids, Families & Communities through SRP Federal Credit Union Partnership of Mobile Club and Family Connections Center

AUGUSTA, February 13, 2023 – Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta and SRP Federal Credit Union have partnered together to reach more kids, families, and communities than ever before through the launch of SRP’s “Club-on-the-Go” Mobile Club and Family Connections Center.

The Family Connections Center is a dedicated space with free internet connectivity, computers and educational resources for Boys & Girls Clubs’ members and families. The “Club-on-the-Go” Mobile Club brings Boys & Girls Clubs where they’re needed most and will offer programming in Art, STEM, Sports & Recreation, and Financial Literacy via an outfitted trailer to kids who are unable to access a standing Club.

“SRP is a local, community-driven credit union so we are extremely pleased with our partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta,” states Eric Jenkins, CEO of SRP Federal Credit Union. “We are excited about the opportunities the Family Connection Center and the “Club-on-the-Go” Mobile Club will offer to families and youth in our area. The Mobile Club is especially exciting as it is designed to bring club programs, including financial literacy, to youth in rural areas with an emphasis on underserved and Hispanic communities who otherwise would not have access to a club. It is our belief this collaboration will have a great impact on our community, now and in the years to come.”

“The ‘Club-on-the-Go’ Mobile Club allows us to bring Boys & Girls Clubs to specific communities and areas of need, expanding our reach and providing greater equity of opportunity to youth in Augusta with our programming focused on Academics, Good Character & Leadership and Healthy Lifestyles,” said Kim Evans, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta. “The SRP Family Connections Center at Boys & Girls Clubs is also a great example of community collaboration that will help us accomplish our mission of building great futures for our youth and provide additional support to the families we serve.”
