Calhoun, Ga. – On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the LGE Community Outreach Foundation awarded a combined $20,000 to local nonprofit organizations serving Gordon County as part of the Foundation’s Calhoun Giving Day. Hosted at LGE Community Credit Union’s Calhoun branch, the event celebrated organizations making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout Calhoun and Gordon County.
Nonprofit organizations receiving donations included Gordon County Civic Club, Harris Arts Center, New Foundations Development, Inc., and United Way of Gordon County.
“The organizations recognized through Calhoun Giving Day are making a tangible difference for individuals and families across Gordon County,” said Shannon Moats, president of the LGE Foundation. “We are honored to celebrate their work and invest in the programs and services that help strengthen the communities we serve.”
Recipients were chosen based on their impact in the community. Together, the selected nonprofits strengthen Gordon County through programs and services focused on arts and culture, housing, financial stability and historic preservation.
The Calhoun Giving Day is part of the LGE Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting the communities LGE serves through charitable giving, volunteerism and community partnerships. Funded through the Foundation’s year-round fundraising efforts and the generosity of LGE employees and members, these donations help expand the reach of local organizations working to improve lives throughout Gordon County.
