TAMPA, Fla. (Jan. 31, 2025) – USF Credit Union (USF CU) this week marked another milestone in its journey of expansion and innovation with the ribbon cutting and grand opening of its Citrus Park branch located at 7919 Gunn Hwy.
“This branch represents more than just bricks and mortar—it reflects our commitment to meeting the unique needs of Citrus Park, particularly its vibrant Hispanic community,” said Richard Sellwood, SVP and COO. “We aim to create a space that inspires and empowers everyone who walks through our doors to achieve financial wellness and success.”
This event comes at a pivotal time for the credit union, which has been embracing a growth-oriented strategy under the leadership of Richard J. “Rick” Skaggs, President and CEO. “As our tenth branch, we see this new location not just as a place to bank, but as a hub for connection, opportunity, and growth,” said Skaggs. “We want every visitor to leave in a better financial position than when they first arrived, and I invite everyone to experience firsthand what makes USF Credit Union different.”
Representatives from the local community, including Temple Terrace Mayor Andy Ross; Hillsborough County Commissioners Donna Cameron Cepeda and Chris Boles; Major Darrin Barlow from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office; and Hillsborough County Clerk of Court & Comptroller Victor Crist, along with business leaders and residents, joined USF CU leaders to celebrate the occasion.
Also, Sean Saintil, a field representative from U.S. Representative Kathy Castor’s office and Luis Laracuente, District Director for the Tampa Bay Region, from Senator Rick Scott’s office presented proclamations during the event. Their presence reflected the collaborative spirit that USF CU values and strives to nurture with every new branch.
The Citrus Park opening is part of USF CU’s broader vision for strategic growth and innovation. With additional expansion plans on the horizon, USF CU continues to enhance its footprint across the region and provide greater access to its comprehensive suite of financial solutions.
With more than 75,000 members and $1.2 billion in assets, USF Credit Union is committed to providing cutting-edge technology, robust financial tools and personalized services that empower members to achieve their financial goals. As the Citrus Park branch begins its journey, it represents not just a new location, but a continuation of USF CU’s legacy of growth, innovation and community impact.
