Fort Walton Beach, Fla. – Eglin Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that Eglin Member Service Supervisor Gerta Hardy has been selected as the 5-Star Performer for the Third Quarter of 2025. Gerta has been employed with the Credit Union since February 2014 and currently resides in Crestview. The 5-Star Performer Award is a quarterly employee recognition program. The nominator provides a written submission describing how the employee embraces Eglin FCU’s Values: Respectful, Trustworthy, Dedicated, Proactive and Engaged.
Gerta was nominated by a colleague who highlighted her exceptional leadership, resilience and commitment to Eglin FCU’s values. They described how she consistently brings positivity and determination to her role, even in the face of adversity. During a particularly challenging period — working without air conditioning in the peak of summer and navigating staffing transitions — Gerta stepped up without hesitation. She unified the team, took on responsibilities across both the Member Services and Teller departments, and ensured operations continued smoothly. The nominator also emphasized Gerta’s respectful demeanor, trustworthiness, and proactive approach, describing her as a reliable presence and a driving force behind their branch’s success.
“Today we celebrate Gerta,” said Eglin Branch Manager Nikki Quimby. “Every day, she brings energy, focus and a sense of unity to our team. Her dedication keeps us motivated and connected. Gerta is truly exceptional — the definition of a 5-star employee.”
Gerta began her career with Eglin Federal Credit Union in 2014 as a part-time Teller at the Eglin Branch. Her dedication and strong work ethic quickly earned her a full-time Teller position in 2015, followed by a promotion to Member Service Counselor in 2016. Throughout her tenure, Gerta has primarily served members at the Eglin Branch but also spent time at the North Crestview and South Crestview Branches. In 2023, she was promoted to her current role as Eglin Member Service Supervisor. Her extensive experience as both a Teller and Member Service Counselor has made her an invaluable leader and resource for her team.
“I truly love my team and the company I work for. It means so much to me to lead such an incredible group — they genuinely make my job easy,” Gerta said, moved by the recognition from her peers. “It’s an honor to represent Eglin FCU. With the new Eglin AFB branch on the horizon, we’re excited for what’s ahead. Get ready for Team Eglin!”
