Credit Union of Georgia Community Foundation Partners with Hobgood Baseball to Support Local Youth and the Community of Cherokee County

Kennesaw, GA –  The Credit Union of Georgia Community Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with Hobgood Baseball aimed at strengthening youth sports and supporting community initiatives across Cherokee County.

Through this partnership, Credit Union of Georgia is encouraging families and community members to get involved in a program that gives back directly to the local baseball program. When new members join Credit Union of Georgia and select Hobgood Baseball during the application process, $50 is donated to the Hobgood Baseball program and an additional $50 is contributed to the Credit Union of Georgia Community Foundation, helping support youth athletics, education initiatives, and local charitable programs.

“We are always looking for meaningful ways to invest in our communities,” said President/CEO of Credit Union of Georgia. “Partnering with Hobgood Baseball allows us to support youth development while also engaging families in opportunities that strengthen both their financial future and the programs that matter most to them.”

The partnership highlights the shared values of teamwork, leadership, and community involvement, principles that are central to both youth sports and financial success.

“This partnership is about more than baseball,” said Michelle Dobbins, VP of Marketing and Foundation board member at Credit Union of Georgia. “It’s about creating opportunities for families to support local programs while learning how financial institutions like credit unions reinvest in the communities they serve.”

Credit Union of Georgia kicked off the partnership by participating in Opening Day at the Hobgood Baseball Complex on Saturday, March 7, where team members were onsite celebrating the start of the season with players, families, and volunteers. The Credit Union hosted a booth with giveaways, connected with local families, and shared information about the membership promotion that directly benefits the league.

“Our employees love being part of events like Opening Day because it allows us to engage directly with the families we serve,” said Amanda Arnold, Director of Community Outreach for Credit Union of Georgia. “Supporting Hobgood Baseball is another way we can give back to a program that plays such an important role in teaching teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence to young athletes in our community.”

Hobgood Baseball serves hundreds of youth athletes each season, providing opportunities for boys and girls in the community to develop baseball skills, build friendships, and learn important life lessons through sports.
