Kennesaw, GA – Credit Union of Georgia proudly celebrated its 65th Anniversary on Thursday, October 16, in conjunction with International Credit Union Day, with a community-focused event at its Jiles Road branch.
The celebration drew a strong turnout, with over 150 guests served lunch from The Patty Wagon Food Truck and many more attending to enjoy the festivities. The event featured a live remote broadcast from The Pulse 101.1 FM, where Amanda Arnold, Director of Community Outreach, and Michelle Dobbins, VP of Marketing, joined host Kim Fitz to promote the credit union movement and highlight Credit Union of Georgia’s competitive CD rates.
Event Highlights:
- Member Testimonials: Several members shared their long-standing relationships with the credit union, including one couple with 38 years of membership spanning three generations, and another member who joined 56 years ago as a new teacher in Cobb County.
- Community Engagement: The event welcomed representatives from the Kennesaw Police Department and a visit from the Mayor of Kennesaw, Mr. Derek Easterling.
- Festivities: Guests enjoyed games, giveaways, and over 70 raffle entries, creating a lively and appreciative atmosphere. One of the youngest new members even made an appearance—cruising in a stroller and enjoying fries!
“The energy and gratitude from our members was incredible,” said Michelle Dobbins. “It was a long day for the Marketing team, but a rewarding one. We’re proud to have hosted such a successful event that reflects the heart of our credit union.”
Credit Union of Georgia thanks all who attended and contributed to the celebration. Here’s to 65 years—and many more to come.
