The Wish Tree Program is one of Georgia United's longest-running community service projects and one of its most successful. The program has donated a total of 23,081 gifts to multiple county Division of Family and Children Services offices and local charities during its tenure.

December 20th, 20170168Elderly and disabled residents in central Georgia will have a jollier Christmas thanks to Robins Financial Credit Union.
Robins Financial employees recently created 55 Christmas gift boxes for donation to the Meals on Wheels of Houston County's "Shoeboxes for the Elderly" program. The packages contained candy, games and personal care items.
The employees will donate their package to Meals on Wheels along with a special meal for Christmas day.

The Warner Robins-based credit union selected 25 different organizations throughout their count radius. Throughout the first 25 days of December, the credit union will give each organization a monetary donation to help with their Christmas celebration.

Mark Littleton, 47, will fill current-CEO Janet Davis' spot after she retires at the end of January, finishing a 40-year career with credit unions. Littleton will become CEO effective Feb. 1, 2018, according to CU Today.

December 6th, 20171137The Senate Banking Committee passed regulatory relief bill Tuesday morning that could provide significant lending relief to credit unions, according to the Credit Union National Association.
The Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act passed the committee with a vote of 16-7 Tuesday following a markup that morning.

The Warner Robins-based credit union made a $4,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House's 365 Day Society, which houses families with hospitalized children. A contribution of $1,000 to the Society covers the cost of operating the home for one day, according to a Robins Financial press release. While at the house, the families are given meals and an opportunity to connect with other families facing similar situations.

November 30th, 20171075The National Credit Union Administration recently awarded Peach State Federal Credit Union a grant to help it improve the financial health of people in under-served areas.
Peach State was one of 23 credit unions to receive $536,000 in Underserved Outreach Grants, money that's meant to help credit unions develop strategies to increase outreach in areas that need it most. The grant is also meant to drive positive business results.
