May 16th, 20180113Robins Financial Credit Union recently donated both money and time to the Macon Area Habitat for Humanity.
In addition to a monetary corporate donation, a team of Robins Financial Credit Union employees met at a home in Lynmore Estates for Habitat's "Women Build Day." The women worked on three habitat houses, completing project such as insulation, vinyl siding and exterior painting.
Robins Financial Credit Union has partnered with the Macon Area Habitat for Humanity since 2008, and employees have frequently donated their time to construct Habitat homes.
May 11th, 2018085Delta Community Credit Union recently awarded $100 savings accounts to 13 metro Atlanta students.
The students won the accounts by submitting winning entries into the credit union's third annual Youth Month Essay Contest, which the credit union hosted during National Credit Union Youth Savings Month in April. This year, Delta Community asked students how saving money helps them "reach for the stars," according to a Marietta Daily Journal article.

May 11th, 20180104Peach State Federal Credit Union recently made a $50,000 donation to Piedmont College.
The donation benefits the Dr. Robert H. Wainberg Natural Sciences Research Fund and will support research for Piedmont College students majoring in natural sciences, including biology, chemistry and environmental science.
May 11th, 20180109Kinetic Credit Union recently awarded $5,000 in scholarships to two rising college students.
Alexis Grier from Smiths Station High School and Curtis Walker, Jr., from Columbus High School each received $2,500 Ronald J. Mahoney Kinetic Scholarships. The scholarships are named in honor of former Kinetic Chairman Ron Mahoney, who passed away in January 2016.
Grier will be attending Auburn University and plans to major in human development and family studies. Curtis plans to attend Columbus State University and major in English with a minor in political science.

May 10th, 20180173Robins Financial Credit Union recently renewed its sponsorship of the Annual Independence Day Celebration in Warner Robins.
This year's celebration, scheduled to take place July 3 in the parking lot of McConnel-Talbert Stadium, will feature an act from country artist Hunter Hayes. The night will wrap up with fireworks sponsored by Robins.
The credit union has sponsored the event since 2002.

"These programs provide solutions for current students who require financial assistance and for graduates who want a manageable way to repay their student loans," according to a Georgia United press release.
Georgia United's new Student Choice loans are available for undergraduates enrolled in most four-year public and private colleges. May 4th, 20180163United 1st Federal Credit Union recently honored a long-time board member's retirement.
The credit union held a dinner at Lang's Maria Restaurant to commemorate Terry Brown's 46-year career.
Brown watched United 1st grow from $14 million in assets serving about 6,500 members to $180 million in assets and serving almost 26,000 members.
He retired from the board of directors in March, having served since 1984.
During that time, he served on the executive committee, the asset liability committee and also he chairman. He was the first chairman to suggest and institute the rotating board officer posts.
