Georgia's Own Credit Union donates $8.5K to charity working for sick, injured children

January 27th, 20202966 Georgia's Own Credit Union recently donated $8,500 to Miracle at Kennesaw State, which will use the money toward its fundraiser benefiting childhood cancer research, according to an article in the KSU Sentinel.  The donation was part of Georgia's Own Credit Union's "85 Acts of Kindness" to celebrate its 85th anniversary in 2019. Georgia's Own's final act was to pledge a donation to a local nonprofit charity. LGE Community Foundation helps wipe out Marietta, Cobb school meal debt

January 10th, 2020268 Thanks to a $19,000 donation made, in part, by LGE Community Foundation -- the nonprofit arm of LGE Community Credit Union -- thousands of Marietta and Cobb County students will be able to eat a hot meal. The donation paid off school meal debt in the two counties, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution article. That allowed roughly 44,900 low-income students to receive free and reduced-price lunches in their school cafeterias.
