This year the United Way of Central Georgia is celebrating their 100th Anniversary. Originally founded in 1922 as the Community Chest of Macon and Bibb County, the organization was created to conduct a single, community-wide fundraising campaign for local nonprofit agencies. Through the years, Community Chest of Macon and Bibb County grew and expanded along with other similar agencies in the area.
