Teacher Grant Application Now Available

Local teachers can now apply for a grant of up to $500 to assist with classroom projects that positively impact students.

The Blue Eagle Credit Union Teacher Grant application window opens the beginning of each school year for local teachers. Applications are open through September 30, with recipients announced by the beginning of November. The application has full details, eligibility requirements, and deadlines.

Since 2016, more than $53,000 has been awarded to more than 100 teachers to benefit more than 20,000 students locally. The program is funded by Blue Eagle Credit Union team members who donate $2 to wear jeans on Fridays. Many projects will be used for multiple classes or subsequent years to impact even more students.

“Teachers, on average, spend $500 or more out of their own pockets each year for classroom supplies and projects. Our Blue Eagle Credit Union team personally funds grants to aid teachers in getting resources and implementing projects to keep learning fun, relevant, and innovative. Students can enjoy learning if given the right tools. Giving students a solid education is vital to the success of our community,” Senior Brand Specialist Laurissa Thompson said.

Teachers who could use up to $500 to fund classroom projects can apply at BlueEagleCreditUnion.com.
