Pensacola, Fla. – As the federal government shutdown continues, PenAir Credit Union (PenAir) is reaffirming its commitment to its members with a tailored suite of support options.

PenAir Credit Union is monitoring the situation in Washington and hopes it is resolved quickly without interruption to a member’s next paycheck. However, members impacted by the shutdown who receive their federal direct deposit payroll into a PenAir account may be eligible for a 4-month, 0% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) loan up to $5,000. Additionally, affected members can seek assistance with existing PenAir Loans.
Derrick Aguilar, PenAir’s SVP & Chief Experience Officer, added, “Alongside our Furlough Relief Loan program, we have certified financial counselors ready to provide personal guidance and ensure every member feels supported. In addition, we are offering flexible payment relief solutions, including the option to skip a payment on existing loans, to help alleviate financial stress during this period.”
PenAir’s Furlough Relief Program is designed to support members whose next federal direct deposit is paused because of the shutdown. To make the process smooth and provide help quickly, PenAir members will need to provide a notice of furlough or confirmation of pay interruption when applying for a loan.
